Moondance Rowing
Why Rowing?
    Health Benefits of Slide-Seat Rowing:

Rowing exercises all major muscle groups (legs, back, and arms).

Rowing is a low impact sport, protecting the rider from major stress
injuries.

Rowing builds lean muscle mass while burning up to 600 calories and
hour.

Studies have shown that outdoor activities such as rowing lower stress
levels and decrease the risk of chronic disease.

Rowing is an environmentally friendly way to enjoy the outdoors.

Fun and Relaxation!

6:30a.m.:  Rowing to a
destination of serenity and
health...

The sun is starting it's
leisurely journey over the
mountains.  Sunlight is
dancing across the flat,
smooth water.  You silently
slip your boat into the liquid
glass not wanting to disturb
the peacefulness that
surrounds you. You set the
oars, strap your feet in.
Your first lazy stroke glides
you effortlessly away from
the dock.  A second stroke
and you watch civilization
disappear behind you, the
only sound the whisper of the
oars entering and exiting the
water.  You concentrate on a
perfectly timed oar catching
the water for the next stroke,
a smooth and effortless roll
and release from the water.
The dark pools of swirling
water left behind by each
stroke are getting further
and further apart as you pick
up speed. Behind you the
dock has faded away.  As you
turn to look over your
shoulder, your destination
appears; a small, sandy
beach that can only be
reached by boat.  In
anticipation of your
destination your pace picks
up..you're sliding forward
and reaching for a longer
stroke.  Your legs are
powering the oars with more
exertion, your heart
pumping.  Each stroke
changes the  intricate
pattern of water that rushes
by.  After one last push you
lay the oars up and they
dance across the surface as
you glide to the shore.  You
are all alone with your ice
chest, coffee, and a chair
from the storage
compartment.  The only way
this could get better is if you
had just made the journey
with a special friend rowing
along with you.  This is what
Moondance is all about.
